Moe$ – Hold It Down

Thrilling new sound from East Coast artist Moe$
set to make a splash in the New Year

AVENEL, NJ – Most people would tell you that to make it big in the music industry takes a one-in-a-million lightning strike of luck. East Coast artist Moe$ knows that, but he also knows that the lightning won’t strike unless you’re willing to put in hours and hours of hard work and effort. He knows that hard work has to be paired with unique talent and an original sound. And he knows that he has to open himself to the world in uncomfortable ways so that as many people as possible can get a taste of the music he has to share.

All of those things are at play for this budding young artist which means he’s a name you should pay attention to as he’s primed for big things in 2020. That soon-to-be wave of success is set to begin in January when he drops his new eight-song EP. The first single from that project is already available across all streaming platforms and is already creating some buzz for this hot new artist.

The song is called “Hold It Down.” It showcases more of a pop-forward vibe underneath lyrics that describe the scenario that often happens when a guy meets a girl for the first time. But this “out-of-town” woman isn’t like most other women in that she can “hold it down” in conversation and keep up with the guy with her witticisms and charisma.

“It has a catchy melody that people can vibe to and the beat is really dope,” Moe$ said. “My voice sounds different than anything out there. The more people listen to my music the more they’ll know that it’s legit and they’ll want to bounce with it. More than anything, that’s what I want – for people to just vibe to the music. I want people to remember me as a person who worked his butt off and didn’t have a lot to work with but somehow made it to the top. I know a lot of people don’t make it out here and if you’re going to do it, you have to put 100 percent into it. You have to respect the craft and be willing to revise and edit and be dedicated to the process. That’s what I want to be remembered for – a true artist who worked the process and made great music.”

Moe$’s journey in music started at a young age when at age 7 he moved with his family from Egypt to America. He had to learn English and often turned to music as a way to understand the language better. One of the first musicians he remembers paying attention to was Eminem. Moe$ said he loved the way Eminem rhymed and the way his flows sounded. By age 10, he was writing his own raps as he continued to try to understand the English language more deeply. Over the next 10 years, he poured himself into learning how to write – from hooks and bars to metaphors and similes. He studied the early artists of Hip Hop and dove into battle Rap. And eventually at age 23, he stepped up on the mic and left such an impression that Rap fans all over New Jersey were clamoring for more.

“I’ve been on the mic ever since and I’m not looking back,” he said. “Nothing is more important to me than creating a lasting legacy through words and unique style. My emotions and experiences and driven lyrics are a statement for all. This new project is the best material I’ve ever had, and I’m ready to get people’s attention with it.”

DMV-based rapper/producer Santa Sallet and France-based producer Nemizzo are MSP, presenting their new single “Big Hands”. Sallet has been busy showcasing his brand of East Coast braggadocious rap across a slew of recent singles like “Camouflage” (watch on Youtube), “I Get Money” (watch on Youtube), “Championship Ring” (watch on Youtube) and “Chinese Funk” (watch on Youtube) in preparation for the release of Plutography, Sallet’s forthcoming album which blends salsa beats, southern trap, and eastern jazz with classic and conventional rap samples, reflecting Sallet’s international upbringing across South Africa, Dominica and the US. Sallet is planning a series of full-length releases, among them C.R.E.A.M. which recounts his journey from broke to financially free, and Women and R.A.P. which describe his pursuit of success in relationships and the music industry respectively. “This is the song that really started MSP Tunes,” Santa says. “Nemizzo had laid down his verse and I was like, let me try something on this and I just talked about what I knew. What I think is funny, the outro is actually me recording a bunch of potential beat tags. There was a miscommunication and Nemizzo extended the beat and made it the outro. I like it though lol.” Check out Santa Sallet merch here.
