IIAMJUNE – Like Dat
Swfl’s very own IIAMJUNE (I-Am-June) was born Mcevens Dorsainvil to a Bahamian father and a Haitian mother. June would then come to America from his birthplace in Nassau Bahamas to pursue a education. Deciding to make music as a past time while attending college June would find a passion in the art form. Influenced by popular artist Tory Lanez, PartyNextDoor, Mr. Eazi and many others; June combines a mixture of his love for Dancehall/Afrobeats and R&B together to form his own melodic flow and sounds. Currently independent, IIAMJUNE strives to conquer the world with his music.
I’d like to describe myself as a calm relaxed but also funny individual. I use my personality and put it into my music. I just started making music about 8 months ago and “Like Dat” is my second single. I have more songs coming as well for 2019. I was born in the Bahamas and moved to the US at a young age. I attended middle and high school in Lehigh/Fort Myers and currently am in college. My artist name stems from my birth month and the 2 I’s in my artist name stands for the Gemini sign.

(Video) Star2 x Seko – “Once in a While” @Star2Official
Thai refugee artists Star2 and Seko release “Once In A While”, the heartfelt new single and music video. Both born in the Mae La refugee camp in Thailand, the artists draw on their rich cultural heritage with the song almost entirely sung in the Ka-ren language and the music video filmed in Thailand.
“Once In A While” features poignant lyrics that reflect the deep emotions of longing and love, such as “My tears I secretly wipe them away by myself / I love you so much, so whatever you say is never wrong / I’ll chase after you over a hundred times”. Tugging at your heartstrings, the song is beautifully layered with rich harmonies, delicate piano notes, and a backdrop of female vocals that evoke a sense of connection that feels both intimate and distant. As both artists deliver their verses with raw, unfiltered emotion, the feeling of lost love is one that is never forgotten.
Refugee pop meets hip hop artist Star2 fled his refugee camp as a child when the Burmese Army destroyed their village and attacked them in the middle of the night. Faced with overwhelming heartache and loss growing up, Star2 found his solace in music. He has collaborated with the likes of Soulja Boy, $tupid Young, Mozzy, MBNel, Luh Kel, Lil Poppa, HoodTrophy Bino, YSN Flow, and MarMar Oso just to name a few. Now, Star2 is on a mission to elevate the next generation of Ka-ren and Asian Artists.

Bronx, NY native CNRD links with Grand Khai for “Emotionless.” Performing over a spectral sounding instrumental, the pair deliver a relatable heartbreak tune that taps themes of betrayal and bluffs. Filled with thoughtful bars and emotive melodies, listeners take a journey through the ironic inner workings of a man who’s in fact encapsulated with emotion.
