Karim Tha Dream – 2 Shots in the Dark
Karim Tha Dream begins wave of new single releases with Tupac homage ‘2 Shots in the Dark’
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Eastern and Western cultures come together with an intriguing style in new music from up-and-coming artist Karim Tha Dream.
Hailing from the Washington, D.C. area, Karim is originally an Egyptian who grew up in Saudi Arabia before moving to the United States at the age of 17. Since graduating college, he’s been working hard to make money through a variety of different careers, all while exploring his natural talents as a musician. Today, he’s living the American Dream by taking advantage of the extra time presented during the quarantine to create a batch of new singles to share with the world.
He has six new singles released, the first of which is “2 Shots in the Dark.” The aggressive Trap-forward beat plays off Tupac’s verse “two shots in the dark” from his hit single “Changes.” Karim said the song talks about everything happening in the U.S. today with police and Black Lives Matter as well as the cultural unrest that stems from such a divide among people.
“Being from an international mindset, I’ve seen different ways of life – both East and West,” he said. “I have an international flavor which is a different sound than what’s out there right now. Some of it is controversial and makes you think, which is what this song does. I’ve seen all walks of life – from extreme poverty to extreme wealth – and through that I’ve seen a universal connectedness. Regardless of where you come from or what you believe, we’re all connected. I’m trying to bring that external perspective that I feel like we all need right now.”
Another single that’s currently available across all digital platforms is “I Can’t Sleep.” Using a melodic Trap beat, Karim explores the scenario in which so many people find themselves when they got an idea in their heads that just won’t leave them alone.
“I have a full-time corporate job that I’ve been doing for a long time, and ever since I started doing this music thing, my mind has just been a roller coaster,” Karim said. “I woke up one night at 3 a.m. and I couldn’t fall back asleep. I went on a long walk and listened to one of the beats I had, and this song just started coming. It’s about when your mind is over-active and you have all these goals and dreams that are racing and pacing and keeping you up at night. And it’s all laid over a melodic Trap beat that I think people are gonna really love.”

(Video) Star2 x Sprite – “One Of A Kind”
Step into the cinematic world of “One Of A Kind”, a gripping secret agent story brought to life by pop-rap innovator Star2 and Thai superstar SPRITE.The music video follows SPRITE and Star2 as they take on the roles of stealthy operatives hired by a rich businessman to free his kidnapped daughter from shadowy captors. Dressed in tactical ninja attire that fuses street style with spycraft, they engage in a high stakes mission to track down their targets and bring the daughter to safety. Their daring escape unfolds on a longboat gliding through Bangkok’s iconic Chao Phraya River. SPRITE displays his rap talent and rapid-fire lyrics. Star2 complements him with his emotional delivery and trademark melodic style. Beyond the action packed visuals, their collaboration weaves a poignant narrative that reflects on shared struggles with poverty, early age responsibilities, and the challenges of rising to fame.
Star2, a fan of SPRITE, reached out to collaborate after releasing a single with Luh Kel called “I Wanna Get F’d Up” – coincidentally, SPRITE’s favorite artist since Luh Kel’s hit song “Wrong” – leading to an introduction and, as fate would have it, a collaboration in Thailand where the trio filmed “Where Would You Go?” (out on January 17, 2025), while Star2 and SPRITE also created “One of a Kind”.
