Eric Roberts – House of Glass

Eric Roberts pours pain and anger into new soul-searching album ‘House of Glass’

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The internal pain of a divorce has often been described as the most powerful and intense pain a person can endure. This is especially true of a marriage that has lasted well beyond 20 years, as was the case for Eric Roberts and his marriage of 23 years. Going through his divorce in 2015, and the recovery of the past six years, has been a long and hard journey – one that he chronicles in creative ways on his new album “House of Glass,” which is currently available across all streaming platforms.

Exploring a bevvy of emotions with which people all over the world will be able to relate, Roberts offers insight on dissolution of a relationship by taking a close look at the elation, passion, disappointment, guilt, apathy, anger, hopelessness, and resolve that comes from such an intense relationship. Exploring the five stages of grief that people go through following a divorce, “House of Glass” is an extremely heartfelt and transparent deep-dive into the resiliency of a man who has been chewed up and spit out and now resolves to move forward with his life.

“If you can imagine being in a 23-year marriage that slowly starts to degrade, you’ll begin to get an idea of the pain that comes with this album,” Roberts said. “It starts with noticing that things are falling apart, and then after the marriage falls completely apart you go through the five stages of grief – shock and denial, anger, depression and detachment, bargaining, and eventually acceptance. Absolutely this is an album that reflects my personal journey, but it’s also something that a lot of people can relate to.”

Along the way listeners will be treated to a fusion of different sounds and styles as Roberts brings his more than 30 years of playing professionally in bands to the forefront. Every instrument on the album is played by him, and the juxtaposition of different genres makes for something truly original. From Country to Jazz to R&B and even some 80s Metal, Roberts taps into many different styles to ultimately create something that’s uniquely his own.

“When you get hurt and pissed off, there’s no better medicine than music,” Roberts said. “People look for music that meets their mood at a certain time. There’s not a lot of soul-searching music out there, but this album definitely fits that niche. I was hurt and pissed off and I sat in a studio and made an album. It was just a way for me to deal with my problems, and now other people have heard it and have encouraged me to do something with it because of how good they say it is. I hope it helps people realize the mistakes they’re making in their own relationships and make positive changes. At the end of the day, in my opinion, if you’re with more-or-less the right person but you feel like you aren’t and you’re knowingly making mistakes to drive that apart, you’re making a huge mistake. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, and you’ll never recover from the pain and misery of it.”

My grandmother was the Grand Matron of Georgia and my mother was the Head of Education of Freemasons Order of The Eastern Stars”(BigHamm). His parents were taught to live a life of service by his late great grandmother Gracie Mae Smith who would spend her last dollar feeding random people of need in the streets of Atlanta. Step into the cinematic world of “One Of A Kind”, a gripping secret agent story brought to life by pop-rap innovator Star2 and Thai superstar SPRITE.The music video follows SPRITE and Star2 as they take on the roles of stealthy operatives hired by a rich businessman to free his kidnapped daughter from shadowy captors. Dressed in tactical ninja attire that fuses street style with spycraft, they engage in a high stakes mission to track down their targets and bring the daughter to safety. Their daring escape unfolds on a longboat gliding through Bangkok’s iconic Chao Phraya River. SPRITE displays his rap talent and rapid-fire lyrics. Star2 complements him with his emotional delivery and trademark melodic style. Beyond the action packed visuals, their collaboration weaves a poignant narrative that reflects on shared struggles with poverty, early age responsibilities, and the challenges of rising to fame.

Star2, a fan of SPRITE, reached out to collaborate after releasing a single with Luh Kel called “I Wanna Get F’d Up” – coincidentally, SPRITE’s favorite artist since Luh Kel’s hit song “Wrong” – leading to an introduction and, as fate would have it, a collaboration in Thailand where the trio filmed “Where Would You Go?” (out on January 17, 2025), while Star2 and SPRITE also created “One of a Kind”.
