(Video) A-Money Out Here (Featuring Qartel) – “Dark Side”
Toronto-based artist and songwriter A-Money Out Here, aka Angel Milan Beats, has recently released a brand new studio single and music video titled “Dark Side” featuring Toronto’s amazing talent Qartel. The video directed by Diego Aldana, is tied to the artist’s upbringing in Little Jamaica, and it’s sort of a tribute to how much fun he had growing up there and chilling around the intersection called Keele St & Eglinton Ave West!
The Canadian artist explains the inspiration behind the song “started out with myself producing the beat!” The name of the song was significant for A-Money after he realized, “I was describing my overall life growing up in poverty as what I call the “Dark Side” as a teenager without any positive guidance, role models, and also without a present father figure at home!” Qartel adds simplicity yet a touch of edge to the track, making it balanced and smooth. This new piece of music is a perfect introduction to the artist’s diverse stylistic approach and ability to make music that isn’t just catchy, but also emotionally powerful. The single was produced by A-Money himself, starting off the vibe with a unique reverse melody followed by a grittier drum bounce to add more depth to the 808s and groove in general.
