(Video) The Letter Z – “Right Vibe Wrong Location” @TheLetterZMusic

The Letter Z releases the first single and video “Right Vibe, Wrong Location” from his forthcoming full length debut EP The Last Letter (JustOverMusic / Warner Music). Hailing from Toronto’s Jane and Finch neighborhood, The Letter Z references iconic R&B acts from the 90s and early 2000s while also staying current and evoking elements of contemporary trap and hip hop. After debuting his catchy hardcore R&B sound with heavy hip hop production undertones in Fall 2019 at Atlanta’s A3C Festival, quickly followed up by a much talked about performance at Manifesto, Toronto’s largest hip hop culture festival, that’s when The Letter Z’s local legend took flight. Produced by Don Fredericko and 23 Keyz with additional songwriting from Jaek Delarge (J-Soul, Cash Money Records), “Right Vibe, Wrong Location” showcases The Letter Z’s melodic R&B lilt and seductive, compelling lyrics on top of the retro-futuristic sounds cooked up by his team JustOverMusic. Says The Letter Z:
“Right Vibe Wrong Location is a sexually driven song depicting the intentions and desires of a man for a woman that seems so close yet is so far away. Especially when the vibe doesn’t match the time or the place. One can only develop a yearning so deep that it’s hard to ignore. The drums and the keys accompanied by the melodic harmonies are the driving force behind the song’s intentions.”
As a singer, songwriter and consummate performer, success runs in his bloodlines as he is the younger brother of Berlin-based powerhouse vocalist/rapper Isis Salam (Thunderheist). Having already shared the stage in his young career with Juno Award-winning vocalist Jessie Reyez, and having collaborated with emerging Toronto stars J-Soul and Friyie, The Letter Z continues to generate an organic buzz in the industry. Having received opportunities to hone his craft and cut his teeth writing at renowned studios including Alicia Keys’ Jungle Studios and CashMoney’s Hit Factory, The Letter Z is looking to zoom up the charts, when all is said and done.
